When I dreamed up this year’s summer mini sessions, I never imagined they’d be this dreamy. I wanted to create something whimsical, nostalgic, and totally kid-centered—and the result? Three fun, heartwarming setups that are perfect for kids ages 2–8.
These sessions are made for movement, imagination, and memories. Here’s a peek at the magic:
Pillow Fort Portrait Minis
When I first dreamed up this year’s summer mini sessions, I knew one thing for sure—Pillow Fort Portrait Minis were happening. Years ago, I came across a photo of kids giggling under a table fort strung with Christmas lights. It immediately transported me back to those magical moments building forts with my own children—blankets draped, flashlights glowing, and belly laughs echoing off couch cushions. If you’ve ever built a fort with your kids, you know the magic I’m talking about.
These sessions are kid-approved and jam-packed with big pillows, twinkle lights, classic children’s books, blocks, and cozy playtime vibes. Think pure childhood wrapped in fairy lights. These images capture the soft magic of childhood, with cozy vibes and real joy.

Strawberry Lovin' Minis
I ran a poll with a few summer themes, and this one was the clear favorite. No complaints here—I lived in Michigan for a decade and some of my sweetest memories are of taking my baby girl strawberry picking in the summer sun. So, we’re bringing the berry magic to Arizona! Featuring an adorable stand, hand-sewn strawberry props, vintage strawberry plate and even a few fun strawberry balloons for good measure—because kids deserve to play. And that’s how I get those real, joy-filled smiles.
Perfect for little ones with big imaginations and a love of summer sweetness.
Red, White & Blue Minis
Finally, the Red, White & Blue Minis are here just in time for Independence Day. I kept the backdrop clean and modern with a soft gray couch, flags, and a sprinkle of festive sparkles. What kid doesn’t love waving something wildly patriotic around? 4th of July Minis mean red, white, blue, and YOUR kiddo. Flags, sparkle, and all the patriotic charm. The boys in the photos who kicked this one off wore classic overalls and looked like they walked out of an Americana postcard. These timeless portraits capture a little Americana, a lot of fun, and some serious personality.
This setup is perfect for classic summer vibes and All-American energy.
