I recently had the absolute pleasure of spending a day at Vision Studios in Goodyear, AZ, celebrating their 5th birthday with a content day designed for photographers—and wow, what a day it was! If you’re a momma looking for family or graduate photos in the West Valley searching for an amazing indoor photoshoot location, let me tell you why Vision Studios should be on your radar.
When I first walked in, I was a bit intimidated—not knowing what to expect—and honestly, those delicious treats laid out instantly won me over. (Just kidding I was too nervous to eat anything.) The moment I was greeted by Kate Grutsky, the kind and welcoming owner of Vision Studios, I knew this was going to be fantastic!
As I started exploring the studio, I popped my head into several rooms that are perfect for indoor family sessions, graduate portraits, or even something a little more creative (like my KVP Creator Team – which I’ve taken here for the Disney Reboot Session.)
The Light Room was actually the first room I stepped into. It’s bright and airy, and I was casually poking my head in when one of the models, Hilary (@_goddessofgreatness), told me she was available for photos. Honestly, I don’t think I could’ve landed with a more encouraging model. She was totally spot on with her posing — when I admitted I was a little nervous, she said, “Don’t worry, I’ll pose and make small movements so you can just snap away.” And boom — my lightbulb went off because that’s exactly how my daughter poses for me! She makes those subtle movements that keep the shots fresh.
My daughter has been in front of my camera since she was little and is a proud member of my KVP Creator Team. So, I happily snapped away, capturing some truly amazing photos of Hillary. She’s stunning, and her confidence just radiates in every pose.
The Twilight Room was decked out with a gorgeous Halloween theme—think blue, spooky, witchy vibes perfect for October shoots. The model in this room was rocking a black dress with dramatic slits, red fabric peeking through, a snake wrapped around her arm, and some seriously cool Halloween rings. It’s hands down one of the coolest Halloween sets I’ve seen, and I’m crossing my fingers my KVP Creator Team votes to shoot here for our October session. I’m tossing around theme ideas like Witchy Vibes or Broken Dolls, but I’ll let the girls have the final say. (Already impressed with the creativity my daughter brings to the table with ideas for this Halloween room!)
The Boho Room at Vision Studios is currently styled to perfection, overflowing with all the cozy, earthy props you’d expect from a true boho setup. Inside was a glowing momma-to-be, ready for her close-up. While maternity photography isn’t my specialty, I couldn’t resist stepping in to capture a few frames—and wow, these images are pure magic. The warm textures of the room paired with her radiant pregnancy glow made for absolute perfection.
Even if you’re not planning a maternity session, this space is perfect for intimate celebrations—think small family portraits, a sweet grad session, or even a cozy couple’s shoot. The room works best for families with younger children or groups of three, where every detail of the backdrop can shine without feeling crowded.
The Four Seasons Room was in full fall mode. There, I met the cutest couple (Lauren and Matthew) who had been together for five years and recently married this past May. I loved when I asked them to think of their favorite moment from their wedding and whisper it to each other. The love and joy in that room was absolutely palpable—a perfect setting for families, couples or even senior grad shoots full of real emotion. Plus, those books lining the wall? A detail I’m hoping someone else books soon because I can’t wait to come back and create more magic in that space!
The Vision Room features a pristine white backdrop and flooring, offering a clean, minimalist canvas for portraits. The model there was such a sweet soul—usually a boudoir model—and she brought so much confidence and joy to the session. Sometimes all you need is a simple white room, white floor, a white shirt, and jeans to make stunning photos happen. It reminded me that great portraits don’t have to be complicated.
