A Tale as Old as Time: Sabrina’s Enchanting Senior Photoshoot

As a photographer, there’s nothing quite like capturing the essence of a senior as they get ready for their next big adventure. And when that senior is someone, you’ve watched grow up, it’s even more special. This particular senior photoshoot was the first of three for Sabrina, a girl I’ve had the joy of knowing since she was a first grader and joined my Girl Scout troop. And let me tell you, I absolutely adore this girl!

Sabrina’s family is a Disney family through and through, so it was only natural that we created her senior photos with a touch of that magic. This session was a beautiful nod to Beauty and the Beast, focusing on Belle and her iconic love of books. Given Sabrina’s own passion for reading, our location couldn’t have been more perfect: Bookman’s Used Books!

Imagine a treasure trove of books, towering shelves, classic rolling ladders, and cozy nooks – it was a reader’s dream come true and the ideal backdrop for our vision. I’m absolutely thrilled with how these photos turned out! When you see these images, my hope is that you feel a deep sense of awe for this incredible young lady and who she is becoming. I know I am!

Sabrina is always a rockstar when it comes to photoshoots (I should know she is a part of the KVP Creator Team – a group of high school girls that participate in a variety of photoshoots throughout the year.) She’s beautiful inside and out, and her sweet personality truly shines through in every single photo. She was game for pretty much anything I asked her to do, which allowed for such incredible variety in her images.

When you combine Bookman’s Bookstore + Sabrina + a gorgeous yellow dress + those amazing shoes + a few subtle Beauty and the Beast props, you get pure magic!

A Note for Senior Moms

As you embark on planning this milestone, remember that these photos are a reflection of your child’s journey. I highly recommend that you brainstorm ideas with your senior; their input is key to creating images that not only you but that they’ll cherish too. Let’s capture this milestone together. I’m excited to help you celebrate your senior’s unique story!

PS – Just a quick shout-out to Kevin and the entire team at Bookman’s. I stopped by before the shoot to explain what I was hoping to do and ask if we could use their space. They were more than gracious and incredibly kind. The thing is if you want places to welcome you for your upcoming photoshoot you need to do a couple of things

  1. Ask to use the space.
  2. Be respectful of the customers there to shop.
  3. Make sure to make it look better than the way you found it.
  4. Thank them!

Personally, Bookman’s is a summer staple in my own household; we’re big book lovers, and it’s definitely our favorite! If you haven’t had a chance to visit them, you absolutely should. You can check out their website here: https://bookmans.com/.
